“Industry Control 2016”, the study of Transport Industry, Was Undertaken By CFTS Consulting

industry_contrThe Industry Control 2016 was performed by CFTS Consulting with the support of the Deloitte Ukraine Company, which helped to monitor survey transparency and reliability of its results. The main project  goal is to obtain opinions of leading transport sector experts in order to enhance substantive dialogue on the most acute problems of the transport sector between the government and businesses. The survey was conducted among the largest companies of the industry, including rail operators, port operators , cargo shippers, and agricultural traders, so as international financial institutions, which invest in Ukrainian transport projects.

The presentation of the Industry Control 2016 took place in Kyiv on March 1. Minister of Infrastructure Andrii Pyvovarskyi, Ukrzaliznytsia public railway company board member Yevhen Kravtsov, Deloitte partner Artur Ohadzhanyan, Center for Transport Strategies’ Director Serhii Vovk and about 30 top managers of the largest international financial organizations and cargo shipping companies attended the survey presentation.

According to the majority of respondents the main priority of transport sector reforms should become a corruption combating and changing of the tariff-setting approach.

The Industry Control is an annual survey of Ukrainian transport business leaders, which goal is identifying key areas of transport sector reforms. The survey respondents are the largest port and railway operators, as well as the cargo shippers, which in the aggregate control over 90% of the cargo traffic in Ukraine. International financial institutions investing in transport projects in Ukraine constitute a separate bloc of respondents.
